NEW WAVE DISCO +

A taste of disco reshaped into the New Wave - mental aerobics from the 80's. Exagerration is the limit.
Being Boiled of Human League is an anthem deserving a place next to Fade To Grey.

Blancamnge exagerrate the singer's deep voice for extra of solidity.

Uggla is a Swedish rockstar making one electronic summerhit.

Italian Krisma deforms 10CC's supermarket bestseller. A nice remix of Blondie's Raprture.

Early years paranoid disco of Yello.

Spandau Ballet, what an apocalyptic name for a band. Their best song ever. B52's were primitive and genious, this one produced by David Byrne.

Flash and The Pan, BBQ in the Australian desert in the middle of the night.

The girls' band Telekin comes from Hollywood.

Present time, if you are still in the 80's. Not much more to add to your early summer Sunday.

COVERS

Cover versions of famous songs seem to be easy money, but some of them give a great twist to the originals. Here we have a few disco reworks of classic rock songs. "Don't let me be misunderstood" was originally recorded by Nina Simone, made famous as a rock song by The Animals. Spanish Santa Esmeralda turned it into a gitano disco epic, hot and massive. Baccara (also from Spain) pick up castagnetas and acoustic guitars to dance around the campfire with the The Doors' "Light My Fire". Hot R.S. make it even hotter with French Italo version of "The House Of The Rising Sun". And who on earth would dare to make a disco version of Iron Butterfly's psychedelic anthem "In -A-Gadda-Da-Vida"? The last song is a surprise for Marc Bolan fans.
